In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is crucial for students to develop competencies that will prepare them for future challenges. As part of the 21CC Navigator program, students are introduced to Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC) in an innovative and engaging way. The "Card Matching Game" is an educational tool designed to make learning about these competencies enjoyable and memorable.
What is the Game?
The "Card Matching Game" is a simple yet effective memory-match game that challenges students to identify and remember pairs of cards representing various E21CC skills. This interactive game not only enhances memory skills but also familiarizes students with important competencies needed for success in the 21st century.
How to Play
-
Setup: The game consists of 18 cards, representing 9 different Gem cards, which are placed face down randomly on the playing area.
-
Objective: The goal is to match all pairs of cards by turning them over two at a time.
-
Gameplay:
- Select Cards: Students click on two cards to reveal them.
- Match Cards: If the selected cards match, the student scores a point and the pair remains face-up.
- Try Again: If the cards do not match, they are turned back face-down, and the student must try again.
- Continue Matching: Students continue selecting and matching cards until all 9 pairs have been successfully matched.
Educational Benefits
-
Memory Enhancement: This game sharpens students' memory and concentration as they must remember the position of each card to make matches.
-
Competency Awareness: By associating each card with a specific competency, students become more aware of the skills and attributes needed for success in the modern world.
-
Engagement and Fun: The colorful gem-themed cards and interactive gameplay make learning enjoyable, encouraging students to engage with educational content willingly.
The Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC)
